Are you worried about the current market conditions? Is this normal?
I had the opportunity to sit down and discuss the recent market volatility with Dan Rohinton (Vice-President, Portfolio Manager – Global Equities) of iA Global Asset Management and we touched on many key points surrounding the 2025 market environment.
Uncertainty is at the top of everyone’s mind currently, but I try to encourage Canadians to focus on the horizon, the long-term plan. As Dan pointed out, no trees grow to the sky. In 2023 and 2024 we enjoyed tremendous performance within the markets. Early in 2025, we are facing the opposite.
Dan has being telling his clients these past few months to stay calm and to stay the course, and I want to echo his sentiment.
Over a 10 year period, as we increase our time in the market, we will continue to head towards an average return of 6 to 8% per year, a very realistic goal.
I highly encourage you to watch the full discussion with Dan and I below. Please, reach out if you have any questions regarding the market activity, or with any questions in general.
Alternatively, you can watch/follow the discussion on LinkedIn.
